McQuaid Jesuit Names Mr. Mike Doser Alumni & External Relations Director

Dear Members of the McQuaid Jesuit Community,

I am happy to announce the appointment of Mr. Mike Doser as the Alumni & External Relations Director. Mike will maintain his alumni duties, and will also be the school’s marketing communications specialist. He will coordinate advertising strategies and publications, and he will be McQuaid’s primary media contact.

A 1990 McQuaid Jesuit graduate, Mike has been the school’s Alumni Director since April 2005. He oversees the Alumni Annual Fund, directing an effort that has raised more than $800,000 during the last two years. He launched and maintains the Advancement Office Student Internship program, which has utilized more than 100 students in the fund-raising process. Mike is the key communicator between alumni and the school. He has turned the McQuaid Jesuit alumni website into a reliable tool that alums use to manage all aspects of the alumni experience. He is a valuable ambassador to McQuaid, organizing events in various geographic regions and meeting alumni from across the country.

Mike brings excellent writing and editing skills to the job. He is a former sports editor of the Manassas Journal Messenger (Va.) and the Potomac News (Va.). He covered the Buffalo Bills for five years as a reporter/editor for Shout! Newspaper. He was City Newspaper’s sports columnist for two years. He has also written for various business trade publications.

A 1994 La Salle University graduate with a B.S. in Business Administration, Mike is earning his Master’s of Public Administration from SUNY Brockport. He currently is a two-term member of the Town of Perinton Conservation Board. He owns Scoreswire, a high school sports reporting service that delivers Section V football and boys’ basketball scores to various media outlets. Mike also served as the McQuaid Jesuit Alumni Council President during 2004-’05 before joining McQuaid’s Advancement team. He will continue as a member of the Advancement Office in his new assignment.

Mike understands and has proven his commitment to the mission and philosophy of McQuaid Jesuit. I am pleased that he will continue to serve McQuaid in an expanded role with the addition of these new and important responsibilities.
