Fine Arts

It is our belief that arts instruction is necessary to fully cultivate the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and aesthetic aspects of a person. The experience of creating music or visual work extends beyond performance; it has a profound effect on the life of every human being. Our goal at McQuaid Jesuit is to enable the development of well-rounded, productive members of society through quality arts instruction.

Performing Arts

Performing Arts at McQuaid Jesuit is an academic discipline with courses of study in vocal performance, instrumental performance, and drama. Students also can study music theory, composing and arranging music, music technology, and technical theatre.

We offer programs designed for every experience level with ample opportunity to explore any interest within the arts.

Our students perform frequently at McQuaid Jesuit throughout the year as well as at various All-County and All-State competitions and ensembles. Many of our students have won Hochstein and Eastman School of Music scholarships and awards as well as dramatic recognition. Many of our graduates have chosen to pursue careers in the performing arts.

Visual Arts

Visual Arts at McQuaid Jesuit is a rigorous academic program offering a full range of courses. From the student with a casual interest to the student striving for a career in the Visual Arts, there is something for everyone. Course offerings include Drawing, Painting, Three Dimensional Design, Sequential Art, and Digital Art.

McQuaid students regularly win awards in the Scholastic Art Awards competition. They also are actively engaged in exhibiting their work in the community and at school.

Students are encouraged to explore the boundaries of their imaginations, creativity, and problem-solving skills. In pursuit of Cura Personalis, the Visual Arts program challenges students to exceed their own aesthetic expectations and prepare themselves for a world where creative thinking is essential.
