Bowling team clinches RCAC League Championship

The McQuaid bowling Knights clinched the RCAC league bowling title with a 6-0 win against UPrep on Tuesday, February 4th at Radio Social.  Senior captain Patrick Ritz had a 210 average to lead the Knights.  He has had 15 wins in 16 matches this year.   Junior Elijah Rivera finished with five straight strikes and a 205 game in the championship match, helping secure the victory.  Junior Shane Fetzner bowled a 204 game, and has been a steady and productive member of the Knights all year.  Senior Russell Vazzana, fresh off of being a member of the volleyball NYS championship team, had a 198 game in the win.  Freshman Ben Fetzner continued his rise as McQuaid’s most improved bowler with a 188 game.  Sophomore Henry Cotrupe added a 169 game including picking the 5-7 split in game 2 of the match, helping the Knights secure the sweep.  Senior Jack Rumble capped off his final regular season game with another solid performance.

The Bowling Knights will be back in action for the RCAC playoffs on Monday, February 10th at 3:00 p.m. at Radio Social.  It’s also senior day, where seniors Patrick Ritz, Russell Vazzana, Jack Rumble, Wade Smythe and Anthony Gallina will be honored.
