Students Give Back for Freshman Day of Service

On Tuesday, October 30th, the Freshman class participated in their InVia day of service retreat. Students were sent out by homerooms to volunteer with different community organizations including: Mary’s Place Refugee Outreach, the House of Mercy, Foodlink, the YWCA, the Plastic Lakes Project, School of the Holy Childhood, and Rochestarians Engaged in Action for the Chronically Homeless (REACH). Students assisted in a variety of activities including sorting donations, preparing a temporary homeless shelter for winter, and removing one hundred twenty pounds of trash from Durand Eastman beach.
