Congratulations to Peter Zappia, Adam Daughton and Benjamin Buyer who were named finalists in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship competition. They join a select group of high school students nationwide in achieving this recognition.
Each year, about 1.6 million students take the PSAT. Of the juniors who take the exam, less than one percent earn scores that qualify them as semifinalists. Ninety percent of the semifinalists go on to become finalists. Of this group, 7,500 are awarded scholarships of $2,500 a year that can be renewed each year they are in college.
