To maintain its commitment to the Profile of the Graduate, McQuaid Jesuit’s committee on diversity, equity, and inclusion works towards the fulfillment of the school’s mission statement and core values in three ways:
- the development of inclusive programming for cultural awareness and celebration that enables all to claim McQuaid Jesuit as home;
- the adaption of current approaches to learning and curricular development to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in our and others communities’ past and present histories;
- the creation and maintenance of policies and procedures for building an environment where consistent and equitable treatment of our community members – faculty, staff, and students – permits all to develop both professionally and personally in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
These actions are a direct response to Jesus’ call to fully love our neighbors (Mark 12:30-31) through acceptance and concern for others (1 Cor 12:12-26). All of this is keeping within the Jesuit charism and commitment to Catholic Social Teaching.
