Steve Salluzzo, 90, P ’18, welcomes incoming students during “New Knight Day”

It is with incredible joy and tremendous gratitude that I welcome you to the new school
year at McQuaid Jesuit!

Each September is a reminder of the renewal of God’s gifts of – life, learning, and community. This year, we once again reaffirm our Jesuit mission: to inspire young men to realize their God-given gifts through the pursuit of excellence in all things, service to others, and a lifelong commitment to justice.

In a world that continues to move incredibly swiftly, we are invited to take time to pause, reflect, and notice God’s presence in all areas of our school community – our classrooms, on the playing fields and in the theater, in service opportunities, and most
importantly, in the friendships we cultivate into our McQuaid Brotherhood.

Our students have always been and continue to be the heart of our mission. Each has wonderful gifts to share with everyone in our McQuaid Jesuit community. As a school, we remain true to our history and have a commitment to providing our students the platform to grow as young men. We strive to be intellectually competent, open to growth, committed to justice, loving and religious. By embracing these attributes, we are able to remind our students, and ourselves, that education is not only for one’s own success but also for the good of others.

We have a fantastic group of faculty and staff who are dedicated and creative toward their craft. Most importantly, our faculty and staff bring to life our mission and the cura personalis—the care for the whole person—through teaching, mentoring, and an overall commitment to forming students as leaders deeply rooted in values.

Thank you to our parents and families for the trust you place in the McQuaid Jesuit community. Each of us at McQuaid looks forward to walking alongside you in guiding your sons toward lives of purpose, leadership, and service.

As each of us begins this new school year together, let us embrace the power of the Ignatian spirit with reflection, gratitude, and hope and strive for a year filled with courage, wisdom, joy, and the peace that comes from knowing our good work is for the greater glory of God.

Gratefully Yours,

Stephen R. Salluzzo, ’90, P ’18
