New Year – New Opportunities
As we turn the page into a brand-new year, I think optimistically about the opportunities that lie ahead. Before we know it, spring will return, and another graduating class will walk out the doors at 1800 South Clinton Avenue soon to be followed by a brand-new group of students who will enter them for the first time come fall. While the young faces change, the cycle continues, and another year of history is added to the foundation of our school. What did we learn from 2020 and what will we do in 2021 to continue to improve our school, our student experience, our relationships with those who have the greatest impact at McQuaid throughout the year? There is much to learn from our experience with COVID-19, but the one takeaway that has resonated most with me is the resilience and strength of our community. It continues to humble me to think about how caring and generous our McQuaid family is. Every role we play, regardless of our connection with the school, has the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives we serve – those of our evolving young men. And when asked, our community wholeheartedly steps up to the plate.
The financial gifts we receive from our committed alumni, parents, and friends fuels our annual fund which in turn supports the essential work that is done within the school each and every day. Your thoughtful donations not only fund operations but provide tuition assistance and make available resources to students and families with financial needs that might otherwise go unmet. It is our goal to ensure that all students at McQuaid are afforded the same opportunities regardless of their financial circumstances. And, while we do not have plans for new capital projects at this time, we will seek funds over the next several years to make certain our beautiful campus is appropriately maintained and updated as needed.
I share my sincere gratitude for all you have done and will continue to do this year to ensure our important goals are met. If you have any questions, please reach out to me and I will be glad to discuss options on how best to make a meaningful gift.
