Make a Gift Today!

To our amazing McQuaid Jesuit community,

It is with a grateful heart, that I extend my sincere gratitude to the McQuaid community; to those near and far, for helping us achieve tremendous success on Giving Day 2020. With your generosity, we were able to exceed our fundraising goal of $215,000 – raising a total of $256,135!

Giving Day is held annually on the Monday following commencement and was implemented three years ago in an effort to raise funds in the final quarter of the fiscal year. Donations made during this campaign fulfill remaining balances for financial aid and provide additional funds for ongoing operational needs of the school. This March, we found ourselves in a very concerning situation going into the last quarter of the school year. With COVID-19 greatly impacting our country and our Rochester community, we began to understand that our mission for Giving Day would serve a much greater purpose – tuition assistance for students and families facing financial difficulties due to the pandemic. While we knew we had other obligations to meet, no need could be greater than taking care of our families first.

And so the challenge began. In the beginning of April we announced a goal to raise $383,000. Month-by-month, you responded as we communicated, with transparency, our needs and that of our beloved McQuaid community. As the weeks passed, it was incredibly humbling to see the outpouring of support and further emphasized just how remarkable the bonds are at McQuaid, especially in light of all that was happening around us. In the end, with your support, we were able to assist 62 students/54 families, by covering their remaining tuition payments for the 2019-2020 school year.

Thank you doesn’t seem nearly adequate, but I hope you will accept my sincere thanks on behalf of the administration and advancement team, for all you have done to support our fundraising efforts this year. Your investments ensure that our Knights have every opportunity to not only continue their education and deepen their faith and understanding in the Jesuit tradition, but further solidify the bonds of brotherhood that are unique only to a McQuaid experience.

I hope you stay healthy and safe and enjoy the summer season. Go Knights!!
