We never did distinguish who was which
Nor does it matter. The drink was tasty.

But now I can think only of his high spirited way with life
And the proud prancing eyes
That spoke clearly of his fierce belief in friendship.
Hans found fascinating
The unlimited spectacle of living.
Daily he would decide on a profession
Or label with some irreverent name
An imagined disease. What were they
Cancer of the elbow? concert pianist?
Flying was no Icarian dream
But an enthusiastic point of view.
No choices left now.
Hans, there is a playground with an empty swing
Swinging.
And I am sure you pushed it on the way out.
