The Principal’s Office/Parents’ Association Speaker Series – Tuesday, October 29 at 6:30 p.m. in McQuaid Auditorium
Please join us for the first Speaker Series event of the school year. In collaboration with the Principal’s Office, the PA is sponsoring a talk entitled, “An Anxious Time:  A Discussion Regarding Teen Mental Health.” Our children, more than ever, are undergoing stresses at school and at home. Social media influences and exposure to substance use are only contributing to this stress, which may manifest as anxiety and/or depression. How can we recognize these changes if they occur, and more importantly, work with our children in a loving and supportive manner? The talk and accompanying panel discussion will feature faculty members from the Adolescent Health Division at the University of Rochester Medical Center and members from the McQuaid Counseling Office. Please join us in the Auditorium on Tuesday, October 29 for this valuable Speaker Series event.

Save the Date:  Barnes & Noble Book Fair – Sunday, November 24 at Barnes & Noble, Pittsford Plaza
The annual Barnes & Noble Book Fair fundraiser is the perfect time to get started on your holiday shopping. A portion of the sales from McQuaid shoppers will be given to the McQuaid Parents’ Association to help fund future events, like this month’s speaker series. The event will be held at the Pittsford Plaza Barnes & Noble. Look for more details in the November newsletter.
