Community Mourns Loss of Teacher/Coach, Mr. Gary Parisi

McQuaid Jesuit teacher and coach, Mr. Gary Parisi, passed away March 24, 2021. Mr. Parisi first came to McQuaid Jesuit in 2013 as the defensive coordinator for the varsity football team for one season before returning to Albion. He returned to the McQuaid sidelines in 2017 as the associate head coach in charge of quality control and the offensive line.

The love he developed for McQuaid, its mission, and the young men he coached led him to join our faculty last fall. Following a long teaching career in the local public school system, Mr. Parisi was overjoyed to serve McQuaid on the academic side, working in the middle school as a sixth grade teaching assistant as well as teaching Current Events and U.S. History to high school students. Students were immediately drawn to him, and this was never more evident than just last month when he was asked to speak at Agape Latte and share his story of faith. You may watch that talk by clicking here.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the Mercy of God, rest in peace.
