From Coach Stewart…
The cross country team took their talents to Grace and Truth park in Hilton for their first meet of the season this past Monday. They took on fellow private parochial league members, Bishop Kearney, Aquinas, and North Star Christian Academy.
The Knights’ varsity squad was able to put their first 12 runners inside the top 13 places. The team was led by sophomore sensation Collin Brown ’23, who broke the tape in 17:23 on the wet and muddy G & T course. Connor Kerr ’21, Jacob Anderson ’22, Joe Scherer ’21, and Dylan Klee ’22 rounded out the scoring for the Knights with a 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th place finish!
The young men of the modified team were equally successful as they put 6 runners in the top 10 in their first showing. The team was led by individual winner Kelan Reh ’25, who won the race by a whopping one full minute over the 2nd place finisher. Behind him was an extremely tight pack of new runners Caden Coon ’26, Charlie Meyer ’26, and Max Schnittman ’25, taking the 3rd through 5th place spots inside a two-second spread. Ethan Navarette ’26 rounded out the scoring in 7th place for the Knights!
