Gagliano, Joseph P.

GAGLIANO – Joseph P., passed peacefully on Sunday, March 21, 2021. Survived by beloved wife Carole of 49 years, daughters Jaime (Steve Nolan), Cara, (Neil Koenig) and grandchildren Jacob Nolan, Avery and Addison Koenig. Born March 17, 1946 in Rochester, NY, the youngest of 4 children. He was a man of great faith and attended mass daily often serving as an altar boy. He lived a faith filled and blessed life. The Nation’s Youngest Principal at age 25, he was the Principal and Acting Superintendent of Eastport schools for 35 years. He was voted “Principal of the Year” by the Long Island Educators and featured in Newsday. Most recently he served as the Deputy Mayor of the Village of Bellport. Tough, energetic, compassionate and unstoppable. No never meant “no” to Joseph, it just meant you had to find another way. A rebel with a heart of gold. Always loved and remembered forevermore.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the Mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen
