Seismograph Picks Up Local Earthquake

On Thursday, May 27, a 2.4-magnitude earthquake took place in Livingston County just south of Rochester. Those in Livingston County said the earthquake felt “like a big truck came through.” Reports say that a 2.4 magnitude earthquake generally can be felt by people near the epicenter but would do little or no damage. McQuaid’s seismograph station recorded the earthquake which is pictured above. The earthquake took place at 00:41 Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) which is what the station records in. The station picks up earthquakes all over the world.
